Armenian Tatik
- is an illustration series dedicated to our cute, caring and loving and sometimes being too iconic grandmas.
It is a tribute to all the grandmothers who raised us and are always there for us no matter what.

the process of creating illustration from sketch to finished product
I aimed to capture the essence of the Armenian grandmother; with all her quirks, her love for her family and her country and of course her food. My grandmother is as much a part of who I am as my own hands.

The illustration is based on an Armenian Tatik, which translates into grandmother from Armenian.
The gata, pomegranate, apricots, grapes, advanced carpet pattern are the details of the illustration that imply the warmth and reliability of Armenian culture, while also providing a glimpse into Armenian life.

The second illustration is dedicated to Tatik, who is waiting for their grandkids to come and eat some home-baked pastry and lavash.
In this artwork I wanted to show how much she cares about her family and how much she misses them when they are not around.

I hope this illustrations will continue to remind you of your heritage and encourage you to pass it on to future generations!
